Schedule Optimisation

Project and operational schedules are often found to contain either unrealistic assumptions, lack sufficient detail relating to the mining process, or are structured in such a way that a resulting schedule is a self-fulling event.

This effectively can hide potential financial benefits from the viewer. We, therefore, specialize in identifying and unlocking these conditions permitting optimization software to fully function. Our experience has revealed that an optimized mining schedule will often be counterintuitive to the original plan. The benefits of undertaking such a process have been shown to provide a material increase in project NPV, reduced project life (reducing total fixed costs), and better equipment fleet utilization.

We will work with you in redesigning the schedule to ensure all relevant resources and activities are correctly included.

Understanding the true cost of a project and the detailed makeup of operating and capital expenditure is another key area we consider that requires focus. It is often found that preliminary work calls for detail, required to adequately support the project. Running project sensitivities can quickly quantify the level of impact from key cost centers and hence maintain focus, avoiding unnecessary time spent chasing inconsequential cost details.

Contract Management

We can provide advice on the contract selection criteria and recommendations for a range of mining contracts including excavation services and infrastructure installation. Whatever is required we can undertake the complete tendering process in conjunction with your commercial dept.

Once a contract is executed we can act on your behalf to ensure adherence to project goals and provide regular formalized feedback on progress.

Project Plan Auditing

We understand that insufficient detail in any project plan can lead to surprises, delays, and material cost increases.

In reviewing complete project schedules from mine development, and infrastructure builds through to commissioning we can provide a complete assessment based on experience.

We will ensure that even when different parts of the project plan are "owned" by different stakeholders complex activities are not excessively summarised and project logic is compromised.

We are experienced in the field and able to undertake due diligence work on your behalf.
