ABOUT

About

Piran Mining PTY LTD was established in 2006 by Tim Peters (FAusIMM, ACSM, MIOM  ), a mining engineer with more than 30 years of experience in the industry including 20 years specifically working on mining projects.

The company offers a diverse range of operational experience in the various facets of hard rock mining from mass mining to selective narrow vein techniques; in addition, we possess broad-based experience in project management from both overseas and within Australia.

An area of specialty is working on projects with geotechnically challenging conditions. Such examples are found in some of the deeper mines of Western Australia or the very poor rock mass of sedimentary-hosted deposits in North America. We believe it is critical to ensure designs and mining sequence are seamlessly related to the geotechnical guidance whilst being practically minded regarding the efficient ramp-up of the project.

Piran Mining PTY LTD provides several services including:

  • Project Management

  • Strategic Mine Planning

  • Scoping, Pre-feasibility, and Feasibility Studies

  • Economic Evaluation

  • Mining Method Assessments

  • Materials Handling Analysis

  • Reserve Estimation and reporting (JORC / NI43-101)

  • Underground design and optimization

  • Ventilation Assessment

  • Contract Tendering

  • Peer Reviews

  • Due Diligence

In undertaking the services listed above Piran Mining uses the latest mining software available to support our strategic mine planning and engineering solutions.

The company is focused on delivering high-quality, pragmatic solutions provided by a compact team of engineers with extensive expertise in the application of EPS, MSO, and SOT software packages.

Due to the increasing demand for services outside of the Australian business time zones, a sister entity Piran Mining UK Limited was incorporated in 2017.

Our UK entity was initially resourced by one of our Senior Mining engineers who relocated to the UK from Australia.   Since 2017 Piran UK has grown notably, providing services in Western Europe, Canada, and the USA.  All of which are within easy reach of direct flights from one of the major UK airports.  Post the Covid pandemic Piran UK will be looking to expand further with a dedicated base being established in Cornwall.
